And so it ends…
Unfortunately, at the end of June, we made the difficult decision to make our way back to the UK. A combination of changes and difficulties we hadn’t expected, as well as primarily the heat for me, led to both of us being highly stressed and not able to keep going. June12-22 Burdur/Bucak
We have spent a wonderful 10 days staying at one of Selo’s friends’ second house, where sleeping has been cooler and we’ve been able to cook and have a fridge and freezer to use. On our way here we kept passing roadside places saying they had “kale biberi” for sale, so we finally stopped and bought some to cook later. Apparently you can fry them (fresh green ones) and eat them fresh with garlic yoghurt, or you can buy red dried ones for later use in soups and other dishes. Th

June 9-11: around Akyaka
Again, we struggled to find the right place to settle, with a few beaches not being our thing, mostly due to parking restrictions or paid parking only. We finally got to just outside Akyaka and found an area where a lot of people were stopped on a verge on the side u der some trees, so we found a place and stopped. It was nice and cool with a breeze and plenty of shade so we decided to stay there- and there was a small rocky cove you could scramble down to and swim (very wavy
